Our group met together and shared our ideas with each other, explaining in detail what our initial ideas were and how they would be developed, including what locations would be used, editing techniques etc.
We had three ideas to choose from for the final advert, the first idea was mine which was the group of girls partying with Diet Coke idea, the second was a Twilight themed advert and the last was the idea we chose to develop.

We came to the decision to use Aarons idea and to develop this into the final advert, we decided this as it seemed quite a modern and interesting idea that we could develop into something creative and we could use good effects in the editing stage to make it look professional and good quality.
We are going to call our advert 'Diet Coke Date Night'.
Our final idea will be an anti-realist narrative parody, the advert will involve a romantic scene of a teenage girl who appears to be on a date with a guy, but the story has a twist to it and it turns out that she isnt on a date with the guy in the advert, but actually a can of Diet Coke. The advert is anti-realist because you would never see a girl on a date with a can of Diet Coke in real life. We will aim our advert at the target audience of women aged 18-35 because as known it is mostly young women that tend to drink Diet Coke. The advert will include a variation of shot types from mid shots to POV shots and close ups on the eyes and lips. Near the end of the advert the girl will take a sip of the Diet Coke and the camera will pan around to just the can against a blank wall which will appear next to the slogan. The slogan we have chosen to use is 'hello you' because this has been used in previous Diet Coke adverts such as the Duffy advert and it fits well with the soundtrack we have chosen.
During the editing stage of our advert we are going to turn the entire advert into black and white leaving only the Diet Coke can in colour, this will allow the audience to focus on the product being promoted, we will also use slow cuts and slow motion. Our first location idea to shoot the advert was to try and find a restaurant that would allow us to carry the filming out in there for the morning, however we decided against this idea and decided the college canteen would be a good enough location, however we would need to provide props such as tablecloths, napkins, cutlery and candles to make the location look realistic and like a date environment. Finally, the soundtrack that we have chosen is 'Hello' by Lionel Richie which is a slow track that will fit well with the editing and style of the advert itself, the song will also be used humorously in the advert. The only other sounds that will appear is the original coke theme tune that we will add in at the very end whilst the advert fades to black.
